The applicator is a special form of primary packaging for spongiosa granules, which significantly simplifies both the introduction of the granules into the defect zone as well as rehydration with a physiological medium.
Below we describe the very simple handling:
Unscrew the sealing cap 1.
Take up a physiological medium (e.g. sodium chloride solution) to rehydrate the cancellous bone granules. Here, the plunger of the applicator should be moved up and down several times until the granules are completely covered with liquid.
After that, close the applicator again with the sealing cap 1.
Leave the cancellous bone granules in the physiological medium for at least 10 minutes.
After rehydration has been completed, unscrew the closure cap 1 again and remove any excess liquid by pressing the plunger. Then unscrew the closure cap 2 from the syringe body.
Apply the cancellous bone granules directly into the defect zone using the applicator.
